' I was impressed when I first saw it'

Hello everybody!

Today I am going to talk about my favourite place in the world…I will show you:

I know it is not a good picture of it, but this picture you see are the Athabasca waterfalls, in Jasper, Alberta.

Jasper is a little town of Alberta, Canada; it is a Natural Park where animals and people share the street. I have been living there for three months in 2007. http://www.jaspernationalpark.com/

About the picture:

I woke up this Saturday morning in Jasper, and my host mum asked me if I would like to go hiking around the mountains. On the way she changed her opinion and drove me to the Athabasca Waterfalls, in the natural park.

When I first saw this place I was impressed of it, because I couldn’t imagine such a beautiful place could exist. I saw it, I sit on the floor, I listened to the birds and other animals, and then I FELT something, I could never explain it because it was a special sensation, similar to when you FEEL free or just relax.

When I first saw it I thought there would be too many beautiful places like it around Canada, but I have travelled around different places in Canada and this one was the best one I have ever seen.

I loved it.

The Place I want to be

IOS, a little greek Island. 2:53 in the morning. Me and my camera, alone in the beach.

Nobody was there but me. Nobody could tell me what to do, what to think, what to feel.

It was one of the latest days of Interrail with my friends, the summer was ending and September wasn´t so far.

I can perfectly remember that night. At the beginning it was the darkest night I´ve ever seen, full of black clouds that covered the Moon.We got out as always, but I got bored at once, so I return home earlier, taking a long hike by the coast of the island.

In just a few seconds, a southern wind blowed away all the clouds but one with snake form which was in front of the Moon. The sea seemed wilder than ever under the moon light. Indeed, everything seemed to be under a mistyc influence. I ran to my camping to take the camera, because I felt that I had to grasp that beauty I was looking at.

With the heart fastly beating because of the velocity of my running, I finally lied down on the sand. I recovered my breath, took some photos and stared at the big satellite of Earth for a long long time.

Now I´m in my room, the 519 of the Hall of Residence Larraona, isolated from the world that is beyond my walls, thinking of time, love, happiness, photographyandfeelings.

Hello everybody! 

This weblog has been made to express what we feel about photography, and what does each photo transmits to us. A photo is not just a picture that a camera has captured in a specific moment, but a way of life and also a way to tell the world what you feel.

As my partners have done, I'm going to introduce myself so you'll know me better.I'm Leire Lizarraga, from Uharte (a small village near Pamplona). I'm seventeen years old and I study Audiovisual Comunication in the Unav. I wear dreadlocks, but as well I'm rasta in most of their thoughts. I collect sunsets (I take them photos), I love to party and I'm in love whith music. I'm into 2 groups of reggae (as a singer in one of them and as a chorist in the other), I play "batucada" (a kind of music typical from Brasil, and famous thanks to the carnival) and y also play the piano. 

Music, as photography is a way of expression. That's why we have chosen this as the matter of this weblog, because indeed it's an art!

Oh, sorry I didn’t introduce myself; I’m Maitane Pelaz and I’m one of the writers of this blog. I absolutely hope you will like it and enjoy with it.

First of all I want to talk about me and we can know each other better and next week we will start writing about the pictures. As I said before, I’m Maitane Pelaz, I’m 18 and I am from Bilbao, but I have moved this year to Pamplona to study Advertising.

Although this is a photography website I want to talk about myself a little bit, I would like to talk about my life, which are my hobbies and about everything… So, I should start with my hobbies: What I love to do is going snowboarding, taking pictures with my camera and listen to music…those things are what makes me think, what makes me enjoy my time and what makes me have fun.

This is a little introduction to my life….hope you liked it…but now we should start talking about photography… someone could ask himself why I have chosen this Blog and the answer is that I like photography…I enjoy making pictures and they transmit me something special.

I think the camera is the best thing ever created…your question could be…Why? And I ask you…what do you think when you see a picture that is 10 years old? It helps you to remember what you did that day and what did you feel in that moment; although that picture can make you feel something different now.

All in all I am going to talk about all of this… you will know what did I feel when I made a picture and what I feel know with it…

Photographyandfeelings is not just another blog for me (and I must say that I´ve published many of them during my teenager life). This is different.

On the one hand, I must write and publish in English, not in Spanish as I usually did.

On the other hand, I have to share it with other people. But, as my partners are going to do, first of all I will introduce myself.

I am Jose Daniel Rodriguez. I´ve been living in Pamplona since a few weeks when I moved here to study Advertising in the UNAV. I come from the Basque Country, although I consider my roots in a very far place.

By the way, nobody calls me JoseDaniel (except for the teachers). Even my girlfriend´s grandmother knows me as Seda (joSEDAniel). It´s easy and shorter than the full name.

My hobbies are the Cuisine, the Photography and sleeping as much as I can, that´s because I love dreaming (it´s not a matter of laziness).

Actually, I have to say that I have already work with cameras. I was employed as a party photographer for a Internet Web called Bilbaodefiesta.com for 2 years (now that I´m here I had to leave it) and although it wasn´t well payed, I really enjoyed a lot meeting hundreds of people each night and getting know by everybody because of my picks.
